Coaching Employees to Work Together

In today’s work environment, conflicts arise regularly, and the inability to come to a resolution can have negative results. Office drama and workplace conflict affects productivity and morale in measurable ways.  The 2008 workplace conflict study commissioned by CPP, publisher of the Myers-Briggs Assessment, documented that US employees spend an average of 2.8 hours per week dealing with conflict.  This means approximately $359 billion in paid hours (based on an average hourly wage of $17.95) or the equivalent of 385 million working days every year. Reducing conflict and coaching employees to improve their ability to work together makes sound economic sense.  Led by Dale Iverson, founder and principal of JustMediation PLC, learn some of the tools of the professional mediator and negotiation coach to help your business improve productivity and team morale. Distinguish your team with new skills that can add greater value to your organization.

Some of the skills that Dale will cover in her session include:

  • Interest-based negotiation
  • Clear and easy ways to create positive emotion in negotiation
  • Model for a “learning conversation” to improve conflict engagement and resolution resulting in positive outcomes even when a conflict cannot be permanently resolved
